Young people and children are the foundation of our society, the seed of the future and the mirror of how we live in the present. Rush, haste, never-ending striving for what is better, chronic lack of time set the values such as the family, friendship, love, tolerance, solidarity in a new context. Computers, PSP's, mobile phones etc. are becoming the best friends of our children. Young people and children are losing a sense of dialogue, conversation, communication with others. Only few have the possibility to experience and develop permanent values, such as self-confidence, compassion, gratitude, love, cooperation and responsibility.

With a wish to encourage the young to establish a dialogue, socialise with their peers in a relaxed way, to engage in playfulness and creativity, we decided to offer various activities to them. As part of the Municipality of Ljubljana public tender, we initiated projects of cooperation with primary schools. Our activities consist of conversation workshops, creative workshops, one-day trips and summer camps. The basic goal of all forms of our work is to improve the quality of life for children and young people.

The main purpose of the workshops is dialogue. We encourage children to put their thoughts, wishes, problems, distress, dilemmas into words in a suitable, constructive way. This means that they are respectful towards themselves and towards others, that they know how to assume a critical attitude towards information and to take responsibility for their actions. The topics of workshops are selected by children themselves according to what is topical, according to their mood and interest.

The purpose of one-day trips is for the young to socialise in an informal, relaxed, playful way. The trips are always carefully organised and they bring together children and young people from different schools. In addition, we want to offer children the possibility of spending free time in nature and thereby strengthen their sense of ecological responsibility.

Our projects have been taking place at several primary schools  already for the third year. Experiences from these events are a source of unforgettable moments for many children.

During our work, we pay special attention to children and young people from socially disadvantaged environment. For these children we organise a summer camp in association with schools and Social Work Centre every year.
